The Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference (GCBC) Appoints new Secretary General

The Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference (GCBC) has announced the appointment of Very Rev. Fr Clement Kwasi Adjei as its new Secretary General, marking a significant moment for the Ghanaian Catholic community. The announcement was made by Most Rev. Matthew Gyamfi, President of the GCBC, during a farewell Mass for Very Rev. Lazarus Anondee.

Previously serving as the Director of Governance, Justice, and Peace at the National Catholic Secretariat in Accra, Fr. Adjei played a crucial role in advocating for ethical governance and social justice. He was ordained as a priest on January 8, 1995, for the Catholic Diocese of Sekondi-Takoradi, and has dedicated his life to the service of God and the Catholic Church.

As the new Secretary General, Fr. Adjei will be responsible for guiding and coordinating the various activities and initiatives of the GCBC, working closely with the Bishops to further the mission of the Conference.
