Pope prays rosary to beg “for the pandemic to end”
The Vatican Gardens have hosted an image of the Virgin Mary from Germany to which Pope Francis is very devoted. She has been escorted with all honors to a place near the great dome.
It is an original replica of “The Virgin Untied Knots” and comes from Germany. For some 300 years, millions of people have made a pilgrimage to the church that houses this canvas to ask that it undo the knots in their lives.
This time Francisco has prayed a rosary before her to ask for the end of the pandemic.
FRANCISCO
“We beg you to end the pandemic and that humanity can resume everyday life with greater security.”
Francis has asked that he untie five “knots” in this crisis: loneliness, unemployment, domestic violence, scientific progress at the service of all and to restart pastoral work.
With this prayer the Pope has closed the world marathon of rosaries that began on May 1. Throughout the month, a rosary has been said each day from a different shrine, on all continents.
Also during this last rosary there were connections with shrines in Paraguay, Chile, Rwanda, Scotland and Spain.
A global initiative that millions of people have joined.
