Francisco: You cannot face difficulties with a gray heart

This week, Francisco gave his catechesis on prayer, and explained that it is normal to find three difficulties: distractions, aridity and laziness.

FRANCISCO
“Distraction is the imagination that goes round and round. Saint Teresa used to say that this imagination that goes round and round in prayer is” the madwoman in the house. “It is like a madwoman that makes you go round and round … You have to stop (this distraction) and put it in the cage of attention. “

Dryness comes when it is hard to maintain spiritual thoughts, memories, and feelings. The Pope said that care must be taken so that this heaviness does not spread to the heart.

FRANCISCO
“You cannot pray and you cannot feel comfort with a gray heart. You cannot face spiritual aridity with a gray heart. The heart must be open, luminous, so that the light of the Lord enters. And if it does not enter, look forward to it, but don’t shut yourself up in that gray. “

The last difficulty has to do with the cardinal sin of laziness, which is overcome with perseverance.

FRANCISCO
“True progress in spiritual life does not consist in multiplying ecstasy, but in being able to persevere in difficult moments. Walk, walk, walk, and if you get tired, stop for a while and then walk again, but with perseverance” .

Before leaving, the Pope did not give up greeting many people.

This boy gave him a letter because he will make communion on the weekend.

Others brought him gifts …

And this one even gave him a blessing.
